Baculovirus Expression Systems

Tools for generate large amounts of a recombinant protein

Baculovirus expression systems are well known for its capability of expression of large amounts of recombinant proteins in insect cells. System uses the baculovirus Autographa californica nuclear polyhedrosis virus (AcMNPV) to produce target proteins. To force recombination between virus and transfer vector, BacPAK6 Viral DNA is being cotransfected with the target gene. After purification and phenotype verification newly isolated recombinant virus can be amplified and used for cell infection.

Insect cell line for Baculovirus expression

Cells designed to be used together with BacPAK system. The IPLB-Sf21 cell line is derived from pupal ovaries of the fall armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda. Exponentially growing IPLB-Sf21 cells are concentrated by centrifugation and frozen in insect cell complete medium containing 10% dimethysulfoxide (DMSO).

Baculovirus titration kits

Based on detection of expression of either the baculoviral gp64 protein or p35 protein, BacPAK ttitration kits provide rapid, simple, and effective method for baculovirus quantification in cell culture supernatants. Available are version with low, medium and high sensitivity.
