1. MAINTANANCE MEDIA

Cellartis DEF-CS Culture System

This media is complete culture system for defined and feeder-free ES and iPS cell expansion in a non-colony, 2D-monolayer format. Keeps cells in undifferentiated state. DEF-CS culture system is ideal for the expansion and scale-up of a homogeneous population of iPS cells.

Main features:

  • Cells maintain pluripotency and long-term potential for self-renewal and differentiation
  • For expansion of human iPS cells in a feeder free and defined environment
  • Eliminates the need for cell selection, because there is no detectable background differentiation
  • The kit includes 500 ml of basal medium, additives and coating compound

Cellartis DEF-CS 500 Xeno-Free Culture Medium

This Cellartis DEF-CS version does not contain antibiotics is intended for the expansion of human induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cell. There are no human- and animal-derived components. The culture protocol uses gentle, non-enzymatic single-cell passaging.

Main features:

  • Medium without antibiotics
  • iPS cells are cultured in conditions completely free from humans or animal derived components
  • The cells are cultured in absence of feeder cells, the substrate iMatrix-511 is used
  • This medium is available also in GMP variant

Cellartis® 2i mES/iPSC Culture Medium

Serum-free, defined cell culture medium for the establishment of mouse ES and iPS cell lines. In the media two selective small molecule inhibitors (2i technology: CHIR99021 and PD0325901) are contained. This media can be used for long-term maintenance of naive, ground state mouse embryonic stem cells or fully pluripotent mouse iPS cells.

Main features:

  • Completely defined, serum-free formulation
  • Uses selective small molecule inhibitors to block differentiation signals from GSK3β and ERK/MEK
  • Allows establishment and long-term maintenance of germline-competent mouse ES and iPS cells
  • Can be combined with Leukemia Inhibitory Factor (LIF)

Cellartis® 3i mES/iPSC Culture Medium 

In this serum free defined cell culture medium contains three selective small molecule inhibitors to eliminate differentiation-inducing signals and promote cell proliferation. Cellartis 3i mES/iPSC Culture Medium can be used to study the molecular mechanism of pluripotency.

Main features:

  • Completely defined, serum-free, feeder-free, and cytokine-free formulation
  • Uses selective small molecule inhibitors (3i technology: ERK/MEK inhibitor, GSK3β inhibitor, and FGFR-TK inhibitor)

Cellartis® DEF-CS™ 500 Xeno-Free 3D Spheroid Culture Medium

Cellartis DEF-CS 500 Xeno-Free 3D Spheroid Culture Medium is solution for large-scale production of pluripotent cells under defined, feeder-free, and xeno-free conditions.

  • Pluripotent cells in cultured in spheroids
  • Optimized for scale-up of iPS cells for downstream directed differentiation
  • Produces 5 x 109 cells in a 1-L bioreactor within 3–4 passages

Cellartis® MSC Xeno-Free Culture Medium

Primary hepatocyte medium

Medium is specially formulated to enable long-term maintenance of cryopreserved plateable human primary hepatocytes in conventional 2D cultures.

2. DIFFERENTIATION MEDIA 

NDiff 227

NDiff 227 is serum-free, N2- and B-27 supplemented medium for neural differentiation of mouse embryonic stem (ES) cells. After supplementation with FGF also generates Anterior Definitive Endoderm (ADE) precursors from mouse ES cells, which can then be differentiated into liver and pancreas with enhanced efficiency.

Main features:

  • Defined, serum free, N2 and B-27
  • Supplemented medium for neural differentiation of mouse embryonic stem cells in adherent monoculture
  • Also for serum-free, feeder-free culture of mouse ES cells

RHB-A

Optimized for the derivation, maintenance, expansion, and differentiation of human and mouse neural stem (NS) cells. RHB-A is specifically formulated for culturing pure populations of adherent human and mouse NS cells and ensures the long-term stability of NS cell differentiation capacity.

Cellartis® iPS Cell to Hepatocyte Differentiation System

This culture media system is sufficient for hepatocyte production out of human induced pluripotent stem (hiPS) cells. hiPS cell-derived hepatocytes obtained with this system exhibit sufficient expression levels of drug-metabolizing enzymes and transporters and demonstrate stable functionality over time in culture.

  • Generates panels of >90% pure, functional, hiPS cell-derived hepatocytes with diverse genetic backgrounds

Cellartis Hepatocyte Differentiation Kit

Kit generates highly homogeneous hepatocyte cultures starting from definitive endoderm (DE) cells. Generated cells are suitable for drug metabolism studies and toxicity screening. Kit also contains sufficient maintenance medium to perform experiments in an 11-day time window.

Osteoblast-Inducer Reagent (for animal cell)

3. STEM CELL MATRICES

iMatrix-511

This matric can be used as an ES or iPS cell-culture substrate. It consists of recombinant laminin-511 E8 fragments and provides greater adhesive properties than either full-length laminin. Also, it allows stem cell culture in the absence of mouse feeder cells.

Main features:

  • For animal-free, xeno-free, feeder-free ES or iPS cell culture
  • Provides greater adhesion of human ES and iPS cells than Matrigel or full-length laminin
  • Promotes high expression of pluripotency markers, normal karyotype, and retained ability to differentiate into all three germ layers
